Give a Christmas gift to victims of domestic violence
We turn to you with a request for a gift for victims of domestic violence who are served by the charity Magdala Counseling Center. In this time of preparation for Christmas, this Advent season give battered women this help:
Professional therapeutic service
Provide her with a trained counselor who has gone through rigorous professional training in counseling. One hour of this therapy for this mother costs about 250 Czech crowns. With this gift you could give one hour of counseling to a battered woman.
Direct material aid
Women often flee their homes and come to Magdala with nothing more than their identity documents. Help us provide food, medicine, and public transportation tickets for them and their children, and provide them with safe and secure lodging. For each of these women we need an average of 500 Czech crowns.
Diagnostic aids
Assessing the family situation, including small children, is not often easy. Special support is necessary and a diagnostic tool for assessing risk in families facing domestic violence is essential to provide this support. The funding for both costs 50,000 Czech crowns.
