Since this winter, Caritas of the Archdiocese of Prague has been operating a medical treatment room directly in its facility in Karlín. It provides medical care to homeless people, which is often inaccessible to them due to practical and psychological barriers.

Two high school classmates met this year at Cardinal Beran Senior Home. Both Zorka and Lída are 94 years old, and their friendship has lasted eighty years.

Another piece of equipment that Czech donors gave to St. Ignatius Hospital in Honavar, India is a modern ultrasound machine, which replaced a device that was more than ten years old and already malfunctioning.

Nursing students Veronika Janišová and Tereza Bryndová from Charles University spent two months on an internship at the Czech St. Charles Lwanga Buikwe Hospital, Uganda. The facility, which grew from the support of Czech donors, surprised them not only with its scope but also with the professionalism of care. „If donors came to see it, they would be moved,“ both students agree.

On Wednesday, 1 October, from 5 p.m., a ceremonial opening of the photographic exhibition Gaza Beyond the Headlines will take place at St. Cajetan Church in Nerudova Street, operated by Archdiocesan Caritas Prague. The event will coincide with a mass in honour of the church’s patron saint, St. Cajetan, celebrated by bishop Václav Malý. The bishop will also introduce the exhibition and offer a personal reflection on its message.

The Caritas of the Archdiocese of Prague has won another public tender and will thus continue for another four years in assisting compatriots who have decided to relocate to the Czech Republic. This is one of the most successful integration programs in the Czech Republic, which Caritas has been dedicated to since 2015.
